Search engines love blogs because they combine the two aspects of a website that search engines deem to be important. One is quality content and the other is new content. Websites of any type, including blogs that have a high quality of content, will always have a priority with search engines. The better the quality of the content, the higher a website will appear in a search engine. Most of the time a search engine will be judging the quality of an article or information by how many one way links exist leading to it. This along with the page ranking of the site that has done the linking will determine quality.

This type of unidirectional linking cannot be purchased and is difficult to mimic. An article with several links from high ranking sites is most likely to be a good quality article. The second criteria from search engines is recent content. This is where a blog has an advantage over other types of sites on the web. Blogs are, or at least should be, updated frequently. Search engines are always looking for changes to a site, and blogs do this by uploading new articles. This combined with high quality articles, makes search engines fond of blogs.

Starting up a blog for the first time can be a fun and exciting time. There’s nothing better than writing about something that you enjoy, having people come to your site to read what you have to say. On top of that, if you get enough people to your blog, you can make some great money. Now, if you’re looking for ways to get people to your blog, there are some mistakes that one should avoid.

Don’t spam social networks and forums: The first rule of thumb is to not spam the Internet. Don’t spam your URL on forums, or even your Facebook wall. The last thing that people want to read is your URL. Not only that, it’s going to give your blog a very bad reputation. Instead, consider talking on forums leaving helpful tips. Put your URL in your signature since most forums allow it.

Don’t email website owners begging for a link back: While many website owners are happy to link to a great site, they hate standard emails that have no personal feel to it. While there isn’t anything wrong with e-mailing people, make sure that you have a great blog and also make sure that you make each e-mail personable.

There’s really no given amount of time at which you should post to your blog. You can post to your blog whenever you get the time. Whenever you have ideas of something that you want to share, you can feel free to write a blog about it. It always helps when you write things down for most people. This may also depend on the type of website that you are using to post your blogs on.They may or may not have have a required set of time that you must post blogs. Most of the time you may not have something that you want to share with everyone else.It also depends on what topics you are writing blogs about. You may be just writing about one topic, or more than one. You can write a blog everyday about something different if you want to. It all depends on you, and how much time and effort that you want to put into it. Anyone can write a blog. Most people put all of their time and thoughts into writing blogs every single day.

There are two heavy hitters in the blog world today, Blogger and WordPress. Each has pros and cons, depending on the purpose of the blog and your level of blog publishing knowledge. Blogs generally fall into two categories: business or personal. Each of these platforms can be used for either category.

Blogger is free to use. Most new blogger prefer this platform based on the fact that it is simple to use. A basic blog can be designed and published in minutes. Plenty of templates are available, making it possible to simply select the designs, fonts, and color schemes that you like and then publish the blog. The full explanation can be found at http://www.clickz.com/clickz/news/2118493/fm-extends-network-wordpress-bloggers

WordPress is also free, but many find this platform more difficult to navigate. There are free templates available on WordPress. However, there is a charge for certain templates. Those who take the time to learn how to use this platform find that they really enjoy it.

The platform that you choose is simply a matter of personal preference. Blogger is popular due to the fact that there is no learning curve. WordPress is popular due to the fact that a higher level of customization is possible. It would be wise to examine each of these choices before making your final decision.
