On top of that, if you get enough people to your blog, you can make some great money. Now, if you’re looking for ways to get people to your blog, there are some mistakes that one should avoid.

Don’t spam social networks and forums: The first rule of thumb is to not spam the Internet. Don’t spam your URL on forums, or even your Facebook wall. The last thing that people want to read is your URL. Not only that, it’s going to give your blog a very bad reputation. Instead, consider talking on forums leaving helpful tips. Put your URL in your signature since most forums allow it.

Don’t email website owners begging for a link back: While many website owners are happy to link to a great site, they hate standard emails that have no personal feel to it. While there isn’t anything wrong with e-mailing people, make sure that you have a great blog and also make sure that you make each e-mail personable.
